Job description

We are currently partnering with a well-established fitout builder with a strong footprint in the healthcare sector, to recruit an experienced Small Works Project Manager to lead and grow their healthcare delivery arm.
  
This is a key leadership role within the business, overseeing multiple fast-paced healthcare projects valued between $500K and $2M, running the small works department with a team reporting directly into you.
  
The Opportunity
  
This role will suit someone who enjoys autonomy, accountability, and end-to-end project ownership. You will report directly into senior management, acting as the main point of contact for healthcare clients and taking full control of the project lifecycle from pre-construction through to handover.
  
The position has been designed to support someone stepping up from a Senior Contracts Administrator or Project Engineer role, who is ready to take ownership of projects and lead a team.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end delivery of healthcare projects from $500K–$2M
  • Full responsibility for programme, cost control, quality, and safety
  • Managing and mentoring a small team (CA/PEs and site-based staff)
  • Acting as the key client interface across multiple healthcare stakeholders
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and variations
  • Overseeing multiple live projects concurrently in live healthcare environments
  • Reporting directly to senior leadership on project performance and pipeline
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of systems and processes within the small works division
Salary will depend on level of experience however figures $160K + can be expected 

About You
  • Background as a Senior Contracts Administrator, Project Engineer, or Project Manager
  • Experience delivering fitout, refurbishment, or healthcare projects
  • Strong commercial acumen with confidence running projects independently
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and leading a small team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with senior stakeholders
  • Ambition to step into a department-level leadership role
Healthcare experience is highly regarded, however strong fitout or live-environment project experience will also be considered.
