Mechanical Plant Supervisor & Senior Operator - Iron Ore Sorting Facility
Location: Northeastern Goldfields, WA
Roster: 2:2 (FIFO) - 12 hour shifts
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term
Pay: $93 per hour
Start: Immediate mobilisation
Are you an experienced mechanical operator with a strong background in fixed plant and iron ore sorting operations? We're seeking a Mechanical Plant Supervisor & Senior Operator to join a dynamic team at a major ore sorting facility in the North Eastern Goldfields.
This is a hands-on supervisory and operational role, ideal for candidates who have worked on iron ore sorting plants and are confident in both running and maintaining fixed plant equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of high-throughput sorting systems and associated plant infrastructure.
What You'll Do
Lead and supervise plant operations on a 2:2 roster, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality outcomes are consistently met.
Operate ore sorting and fixed plant equipment, including conveyors, feeders, screens, and associated machinery.
Conduct routine inspections, fault finding, repairs, basic maintenance and breakdown response to keep operations running smoothly.
Maintain accurate operational logs, reports and communicate machine performance and issues to leadership.
Work collaboratively with maintenance and engineering teams to support continuous improvement and risk mitigation across the plant.
Champion safety, compliance, and best practice in all aspects of your work.
Who We're Looking For
Iron ore sorting experience - you've worked in an ore sorting or fixed plant environment and understand the demands of high-volume mineral processing.
Mechanical aptitude or qualification - either a strong practical mechanical aptitude backed by experience or a recognized mechanical/fixed plant trade certificate.
Proven ability to operate, monitor and maintain mechanical plant and confidently troubleshoot equipment issues.
Excellent communicator with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams in a remote site environment.
Commitment to safety and high-quality work habits.
