We're seeking a reliable and motivated Trades Assistant to join our client's team in Cockburn, supporting a well‑established manufacturer specialising in lifting, rigging, and materials‑handling equipment. This hands‑on role will see you assisting trades across the workshop with assembly, preparation, inspections, and general labouring tasks. You'll be working directly with the client on-site, so professionalism, initiative, and a strong work ethic are essential.
  
This role offers a genuine pathway to develop into a Crane Technician. You’ll gain exposure to lifting equipment, load testing, inspections, and mechanical assembly — building the foundation needed to step into a specialised trade. With the right attitude and willingness to learn, you’ll be supported to grow your skills, take on more technical tasks, and progress into a fully trained crane service technician over time.

Your Responsibilities

• Assisting trades with assembly, fitting, and workshop tasks
• Preparing components for fabrication, testing, or dispatch
• Operating basic workshop tools and equipment
• General labouring, housekeeping, and yard duties
• Supporting load testing, inspections, and equipment preparation
• Following safe work practices and contributing to a tidy, organised workspace

What You'll Need

• Workshop experience
• EWP Ticket 
• Confined space
• Forklift license (preferable)
• Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical, or trades‑assistant role
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Full working rights in Australia
