We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Project Controls to join a high-performing delivery team on a major city-based construction project. This is a 6-month contract role with an immediate start, offering a top-tier day rate for the right individual.
 
This role is ideal for a commercially astute Project Engineer with strong project controls capability, excellent data analysis skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel expertise.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Tracking project costs and assessing subcontractor and supplier claims and invoices
• Developing and maintaining registers for plant, materials, and consumables for assessment and reporting
• Preparing supporting documentation for contract packages, commercial approvals, and formal correspondence
• Developing forecasts and producing reports for major subcontractor packages
• Cost phasing and detailed analysis of site expenditure
• Preparing weekly and monthly engineering, financial, and commercial reports
• Maintaining risk, issues, delays, and lessons learned registers aligned with the project program
• Completing P6 program status updates to track works progress and support commercial reporting
• Providing administrative and technical support to the wider team, including development of templates for reports, presentations, and dashboards
• Performing detailed data analysis to support commercial and project decision-making

About You

• 5+ years post-graduate experience in a Project Engineering role within construction or infrastructure
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, and forecasting essential)
• Experience working on large, complex construction projects
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Confident communicator with the ability to support stakeholders across engineering, commercial, and project teams
