Senior Project Engineer - Marine & Heavy Civil

Location: Perth, WA
Salary & Benefits: $170-180k base + $16k car allowance + superannuation + 40% site allowance
 
A well-established and growing marine and civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team as project demand continues to increase across Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex marine infrastructure and heavy lifting works, working alongside a highly experienced construction, engineering, and HSEQ team.
 
This role will suit an engineer who enjoys working in challenging marine environments and has strong experience coordinating construction activities, subcontractors, and heavy lift operations on technically demanding projects.
 
The Role
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and delivering marine and civil infrastructure works. You will oversee subcontractors, manage construction programs, and ensure technical excellence across site operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and project performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and delivering key project milestones, ensuring works align with program, budget, and safety targets
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site resources
  • Support site establishment, procurement activities, and construction methodology development
  • Review technical drawings and specifications, raising and resolving RFIs where required
  • Monitor project progress, maintain site records, and contribute to reporting for senior management
  • Work closely with engineering and HSEQ teams to ensure compliance with company and client standards
  • Support the planning and coordination of heavy lifting operations and marine construction activities
  • Drive continuous improvement across construction methodology, safety, and environmental performance
About You
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 6+ years' experience in engineering roles within civil infrastructure or marine construction
  • Proven experience delivering marine / maritime infrastructure projects (essential)
  • Exposure to heavy lifting operations, marine plant, or complex structural installation works
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and site activities in a dynamic environment
