Senior Project Engineer
Our client is leading a leading indigenous owned civil contracting business who operate across a range of sectors in Western Australia. They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead a $15M Defence Infrastructure Project – From Design to Execution.
This is an exciting opportunity overseeing a range of complex civil works from design through to on-site construction. Initially based north of the river for the planning and design phase, you will transition to a 2:1 FIFO roster for the construction phase, managing trenching, drainage, earthworks, pipelines, and underground services installation.
This position involves managing the full lifecycle of a major Defence project, from design and planning to execution on-site. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills to navigate the logistical challenges of a large-scale project with a complex scope. The ability to manage multiple activities, stakeholders, and resources will be key to ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate engineering activities during the design phase from our metro-based office
- Develop and manage project schedules, cost estimations, and risk assessments
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
- Manage site operations during the construction phase on a FIFO 2:1 roster
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Manage logistics, resources, and project deliverables to meet timelines and budgets
- Prepare technical reports, project updates, and stakeholder communications
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil infrastructure or construction
- Strong organisational and project management skills to handle complex logistics
- Proven experience with planning, scheduling, and programming
- Experience managing civil works such as trenching, pipelines, and underground services
- Strong background in procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiar with Defence project requirements (desirable)
- Able to work from a metro office during design and on-site with FIFO 2:1 during construction
