Job description

We are recruiting a Project Engineer for a leading tier one main contractor who operate on a global scale across various sectors, including construction, renewable energy, water, and transportation.
 
They have an opportunity for a Project Engineer with a proven track record delivering complex concrete structures such as bridges or water infrastructure (pump stations / water retaining structures) to join their team on a major transport infrastructure project located north of the river.
 
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the planning, co-ordination and control of engineering works for concrete structures, ensuring the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality.

It also provides the successful candidate continuity of work as our client has a strong pipeline of prestigious civil engineering projects in the Perth Metro area.

Duties:
 
  • Ensuring all quality, environmental, and safety aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Monitoring and controlling subcontractors' performance to ensure workmanship standards are met.
  • Implementing project quality plans and addressing non-conformances promptly.
  • Adhering to safety plans and ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policies and regulations. Assessing project risks and hazards and recommending measures to control them.
  • Providing support and advice on planning, design suitability, and construction practices.
  • Managing the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining documentation flow between engineers, site supervisors, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team.
  • Monitoring progress of work, advising the senior project engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action.
  • Ensuring construction-related aspects of the project meet or exceed performance targets in terms of time, cost, and quality.
  • Reviewing and procuring appropriate resources.
  • Promoting and encouraging new construction to improve cost and safety programs.
  • Maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports and change orders.
  • Facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
 
Candidate Criteria:
 
  • 5 years construction experience working on complex concrete structures.
  • Civil Engineering degree.
  • Experience working for an Australian main contractor.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of the same.
  • Competent with cost control of projects.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package
  • MUST HAVE FULL AUSTRALIAN WORKING RIGHTS
