This job advertisement is for a Leading Hand Carpenter position with a multi-award-winning, family-run residential builder. The role involves working on project home residential builds and requires a proactive and passionate approach to construction and residential homebuilding.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Title: Leading Hand Carpenter
  • Location: Padstow area
  • Reporting to: Head of Construction
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete general maintenance to the satisfaction of defect lists.
  • Support day-to-day operations of construction sites alongside the relevant Site Supervisor.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all workers comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Lead a small team of carpenters, apprentices, and labourers to carry out all aspects of residential carpentry.
  • Liaise with subcontractors.
  • Work with the project manager to ensure materials and orders are correct and available.
  • Perform internal and external set out with the builder and subcontractors.
  • Manage apprentices and subcontractors to ensure they fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor apprentices and subcontractors regarding the quality and quantity of work to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable scope of works, specifications, standards, and codes.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in carpentry working on residential build projects.
  • Cert III carpentry qualification.
  • Positive and driven attitude.
  • Team player.
  • Full NSW driving license.
