The Company & Role

Commercial HVAC business with over 40 years in the industry. They require an Ops manager in a newly created role due to growth.

As Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the smooth delivery of both service and minor works projects (up to $500k). This position combines technical expertise with leadership, client management, and operational oversight — playing a key role in the ongoing growth and efficiency of the business.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and submitting pricing and proposals for minor works projects (up to $500k).
  • Acting as the main point of contact for service clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Providing technical support to a small team of technicians, assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Overseeing scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation across service and projects.
  • Monitoring budgets, compliance, and performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec.
  • Supporting the Managing Director with reporting, forecasting, and business improvements.
  • Driving safety, quality, and compliance with Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
About You

We’re looking for someone with both technical knowledge and strong leadership skills. To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
  • Trade or tertiary qualification in Mechanical/HVAC or Building Services (preferred).
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in HVAC service or project management.
  • Technical expertise across mechanical systems such as chillers, boilers, VAV, PAC, VRF, and BMS.
  • Demonstrated success pricing and delivering minor works projects up to $500k.
  • Proven ability to support and lead a team of technicians.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards, WHS legislation, and industry best practice.
