Job description
CGC Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client to engage a High Voltage Engineer based at their Parramatta office paying $92,184.14 per year + super.
Our client is Australia’s largest water utility, providing water, wastewater, recycled water and some stormwater services to Greater Sydney.
The High Voltage team provides expertise in the management of high voltage assets across Sydney Water’s operational facilities, to provide water and wastewater services to our customers. This includes:
Accountabilities and deliverables

The High Voltage team provides expertise in the management of high voltage assets across Sydney Water’s operational facilities, to provide water and wastewater services to our customers. This includes:
- Maintenance of existing HV assets,
- Upgrades to existing HV assets, and
- Delivery of new HV assets.
Accountabilities and deliverables
- Support HV team to ensure HV assets are maintainable and operable, and work with stakeholders to ensure that safety, and environmental risks are effectively managed.
- Provide technical contribution in design reviews for new HV assets from an operate & maintain viewpoint
- Provide operations & maintenance input into HV asset planning, renewals and creation processes and asset management policies, strategies & plans.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders whilst representing and effectively managing the interests of Sydney Water.
- Utilise management systems for the delivery of operational activities and programs.
- Deliver work programs, identifying deficiencies and corrective actions as required.
- Provide HV asset numbering and registration of asset numbers for projects via ADM.
- Update HV installation Single Line Diagrams via AutoCAD.
- Assist with the preparation of Project Business Case documentation – Concept Registration & PIBC.
- Provide input into the maintenance strategy for high voltage assets.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or
- Electrical Trade Certificate-3 or Certificate-4 with an Electrical Licence (supervisors certificate NSW or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2 years’ electrical experience.
- Problem solving, lateral thinking, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Skills and experience in dealing with customer, stakeholder, and regulator issues
- Experience in developing high voltage switching instructions and managing high voltage assets is desirable.
- Experience in working with internal and external delivery partners to achieve common goals.
- Self-motivation and willingness to accept challenges & deliver assigned projects as a member of a team, or an individual.
- Knowledge of the appropriate regulatory requirements.
- An understanding of the application of computerised system, maintenance, and process management systems.
- Sound communication skills (verbal and written) and personal qualities (innovative, motivation, selfconfidence, and tact) including ability to translate technical outcomes to operational needs
