Mechanical Fitter – Manufacturing
 
  • 3–4-month contract
  • $55/hr + Super
  • Mon–Fri
  • Flexible Start Times
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading WA manufacturing business located in the northern suburbs. The company operates a large‑scale, continuous production facility supplying engineered timber products to commercial and residential construction markets. This is a long‑term opportunity offering stable hours, modern plant, and a supportive maintenance team.

  • Flexible start times: 7am–4pm, 8am–5pm, or similar

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative and corrective maintenance on fixed‑plant machinery including conveyors, saws, presses, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, motors, and gearboxes
  • Mechanical fault finding, breakdown response, and root‑cause analysis
  • Installation, alignment, and replacement of bearings, chains, sprockets, rollers, pumps, valves, and associated components
  • Routine inspections, lubrication, and condition monitoring to support plant reliability
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and maintenance documentation
  • Assisting with shutdowns, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures, isolations, and permit systems
About You
  • Trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Experience in manufacturing, timber processing, FMCG, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven breakdown and maintenance capability
  • Confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and rotating equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small maintenance team
  • Commitment to safe work practices and high maintenance standards
