CGC Recruitment is representing a national engineering firm seeking a Civil Designer (Civil 3D or 12D user) to join their team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse, project-based assignments within a collaborative national team.
As a Civil Designer, you will perform civil engineering technical tasks ranging from medium to high complexity. You will work independently while collaborating closely with the team to deliver high-quality engineering models and drawings efficiently.

As a Civil Designer, you will perform civil engineering technical tasks ranging from medium to high complexity. You will work independently while collaborating closely with the team to deliver high-quality engineering models and drawings efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist project teams with civil engineering design, project management, and defining design parameters.
- Develop civil engineering models in line with approved design parameters.
- Collaborate with other civil engineering designers throughout project lifecycles.
- Resolve complex civil engineering design challenges.
- Conduct design checks to ensure compliance with project parameters.
- Communicate design components accurately to project teams.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technical College qualification (Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or approved equivalent).
- 5–7+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Civil Engineering, including Roads, Stormwater Drainage, and Earthworks Design.
- Competency in Autodesk Civil 3D software.
- Ability to develop Civil 3D or 12D road surfaces, pipes, and earthworks models to national standardised frameworks.
- Experience coordinating in-ground infrastructure with relevant authorities.
- Ability to read and apply local state standards.
- Highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with project teams, clients, stakeholders, authorities, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong team player, capable of working seamlessly with all levels of staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
