Transport Manager – VIC

Location: Melbourne / Victoria & Tasmania 
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Transport Manager to lead and improve transport operations across VIC/TAS. This is a unique opportunity for a transport professional ready to step into a leadership role and make a real impact on operational performance and team culture.
You will work closely with drivers, contractors, and support teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transport outcomes. This role blends strategic thinking with practical involvement — optimising networks, improving performance, and staying connected to day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a culture of safety and compliance across Chain of Responsibility and heavy vehicle regulations
  • Optimise routes, assets, and network performance using IVMS, GPS, and transport systems
  • Manage fleet performance, maintenance planning, and asset replacement
  • Monitor and improve transport KPIs, including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and safety outcomes
  • Support budget management and cost control initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and ensure service expectations are met
  • Use operational data to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Foster a team culture of accountability, inclusion, and professional development
About You:
  • Proven experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility and heavy vehicle compliance
  • Exposure to transport KPIs, operational reporting, or fleet performance metrics
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs effectively
  • Comfortable using IVMS/GPS systems and transport data to inform decisions
  • Strong communication and people-management skills
  • Proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and drive improvements
