Summary
CGC Recruitment are working in collaboration with a leading national commercial building head contractor who have a new opportunity available for a Site Engineer to join a well-established commercial builder delivering a major student accommodation project in the Perth CBD.
This is a site-based position well suited to an Engineer who enjoys being hands-on, driving the day-to-day delivery of works, and working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

The Role
Reporting into the Senior Project Engineer & Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with day-to-day site delivery and coordination
- Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are completed to spec
- Supporting construction programming and short-term planning
- QA documentation, ITPs, and inspections
- Coordination of RFIs and technical queries
- Reviewing drawings, scope and trade packages
- Procurement support and materials coordination
- Site reporting and assisting with progress claims
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ systems and site standards
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management
- 1–3+ years experience as a Site Engineer or Project Coordinator within commercial construction. Also open to considering structural engineers with high rise buildings experience from a consultancy background, who would like to transition into a head contractor. Must be a strong communicator with excellent coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology and sequencing
- Ability to manage subcontractors and communicate confidently on site
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- A proactive, driven attitude and willingness to learn
- Up to $120,000 package
