Senior Project Manager
  
CGC Recruitment are partnered with a main contractor who specialise in the construction of marine and civil projects throughout Australia. They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to with a strong civil background to lead the construction of a $50m bulk earthworks project on a 2:1 FIFO roster. As the project lead you will play a key role in the success of the project by conducting technical discussion, long-term planning, budgeting, and finances, and liaising with senior representatives of their client.

Duties:
  • Liaise with clients on project matters and construction methodology and plans,
  • Strong Financial and Commercial knowledge to control budgets,
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements,
  • Liaise with client regarding design, construction and contract issues,
  • Review tender documents and designs and suggesting alternative solutions,
  • Ensure the project is managed in accordance with contractual obligations,
  • Ensure subcontractor insurances and documentation is compliant with contract requirements,
  • Allocate project resources in accordance with project budgets and reconciliations,
  • Proactively provide input in support in the maintenance of a safe workplace,
  • Manage information and conduct appropriate monitoring and reporting duties.

Candidate criteria:
  • Experience working in a similar role for a civils main contractor.
  • Experience delivering largescale projects involving excavation and bulk earthworks.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project or Construction Management or similar.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of costings and cost controls on major construction projects.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Hold health, safety and the environment in high regard.
  • Developed analytical and problem-solving skills while adhering to deadlines.
  • Competent in the use of planning software such as MS Project and Pronto.
  • Full Australian working rights.
