Job description
We are seeking an experienced S26 Supervisor to join the team delivering critical civil works on this high-profile project. This role will suit a hands-on leader with strong drainage and earthworks experience who is comfortable working in a live port environment and across multiple work fronts.
Located within the Port Hedland Inner Harbour at Nelson Point, this large-scale infrastructure upgrade includes wharf, rail, materials handling, and port facility works.

The Role
- Provide frontline supervision of civil works in accordance with S26 statutory obligations, BHP standards, and project requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily civil activities including earthworks, drainage, roadworks, concrete, piling, and track-related works
- Lead and manage work crews, subcontractors, and plant to ensure safe, productive, and compliant execution of works
- Ensure all works are conducted in accordance with approved permits, SWMS, JHAs, ITPs, and construction methodologies
- Maintain a strong safety-first culture, actively identifying hazards, conducting field leadership interactions, and driving incident prevention
Scope of Works
- Bulk earthworks, drainage, and roadworks
- Construction of laydown areas, access roads, and track formation
- Site preparation including pad construction and site office refurbishment
- Civil, piling, reinforcement, and concrete works
- Supply and coordination of mobile and ancillary fleet
- Waste and scrap removal
- Coordination of material deliveries and track preparation/deconstruction
Key Requirements
- S26 Supervisor qualification (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil earthworks and drainage
- Previous experience on major mining or port infrastructure projects
- Current BHP inductions
- Strong leadership, safety, and contractor coordination skills
- Ability to provide flexible reporting and manage dynamic work scopes
- Proven commitment to safety and compliance in high-risk environments
