Fleet Controller / Scheduler
 A well-established South Australian-owned transport provider is seeking an experienced Fleet Controller / Scheduler to join their Operations Team at their Largs Bay head office. This permanent full-time role offers an immediate start and the opportunity to develop your scheduling and allocation skills within a supportive team environment.

About the Role As part of the team, you will plan, allocate, monitor, and manage jobs for drivers transporting full and empty containers to and from the wharf and customer sites. You’ll also provide backup support across operations during peak periods and staff leave, ensuring smooth service delivery and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and allocate driver workloads to optimise fleet utilisation and cost efficiency
  • Monitor jobs to ensure compliance with AQIS, Customs, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
  • Liaise with customer service teams to coordinate bookings and manage expectations
  • Provide clear and timely instructions to drivers regarding job details
  • Perform data entry into internal systems, container terminal platforms, and associated software
  • Assist Operations Managers and provide relief for team members as required
  • Coordinate with the workshop to schedule maintenance and repairs on fleet and equipment
About You
  • Experience in fleet control, scheduling, or allocation within transport and logistics
  • Wharf or container transport experience highly regarded
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and people management skills
  • Customer-focused with the ability to maintain service levels under pressure
  • Understanding of CoR obligations (fatigue, speed, load restraint, mass) and Dangerous Goods is a plus
  • Comfortable working with administrative and transport management software
  • Ability to pass a “Fit and Proper Persons” check as required for accreditation
