Job description

Due to a number of new rollingstock projects, my client are now seeking applications from Project Managers to work with them to design and manufacture new electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment.
  
Successful applicants will be helping with the set up of a new facility in Hervey Bay. Your ability to plan, manage and lead your own project will see you succeed in delivering a program of works as part of a terrific team. Through your ability to assimilate project and technical information, and a keen eye for detail, you will demonstrate your capabilities.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as the point of contact for the project's customer.
* Be involved in developing project concepts and tender responses as required. This may include preparing proposals, budgets, providing input, developing design concepts, etc.
* Coordinate all activities relating to a project to deliver agreed deliverables within set deadlines and budgets.
* Manage the project’s contract – ensuring ART’s position is protected and maximised.
* Identify, assess, manage and report project risks and issues.
* Facilitate the handover of a project to the production team at an appropriate stage for the project.
* Lead and contribute to development of project management practices and systems across the company.
* Supervise other staff as allocated within both project and business organisation charts.
  
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
* Recognised tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (required, a technical qualification is advantageous)
* Qualifications and/or training in Project Management (required)
* Experience in Project Management (required)
* Experience in successfully mentoring junior professional staff of various disciplines (required)
* Ability to lead others to meet targets and objectives (required)
* Experience in developing and maintaining a successful team (required)
* Experience in the rail industry, understanding it’s expectations and needs (advantageous)
* Experience in managing product development projects (advantageous)
