Are you a driven Site Engineer ready to step up into a Project Engineer role with real career progression?
We are partnering with a growing, family-owned Australian civil contractor that specialises in utility services across gas, sewer, and water infrastructure. Operating as a premier subcontractor to Tier 1 utilities contractors such as Ventia, Downer, and Service Stream, they self-perform all works and have built a strong reputation for quality delivery.
Under the leadership of a newly appointed Operations Manager, the business is entering an exciting growth phase with a strong pipeline of secured projects across South East Queensland.
The Role
Reporting directly to Senior Management, this is a hands-on Project Engineer position responsible for the day-to-day engineering and coordination of utility infrastructure projects valued between $1m-$10m.
You will play a key role in delivering water and wastewater upgrade projects, managing technical, commercial, and operational aspects while supporting site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day project engineering and coordination
  • Managing subcontractors and self-performed crews
  • Programming and cost tracking
  • Procurement of materials and plant
  • Client and stakeholder liaison
  • Quality assurance and compliance
  • Supporting project delivery from planning through to completion
Typical Scopes of Work
  • Trenching and excavation
  • Pipe installation (water, sewer, gas)
  • Service relocations
  • Civil works associated with infrastructure upgrades
  • Water and wastewater network upgrades
About You
  • Background as a Site Engineer within civil or utilities infrastructure
  • Proven delivery experience across water and wastewater upgrade projects
  • Strong understanding of utility construction methodologies
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors (desirable)
  • Engineering qualification (Civil or related discipline)
