Location: Sydney, NSW
Contract: 6 Month Contract (Potential Extension)

A leading principal civil contractor delivering major water infrastructure projects across Sydney is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support tendering, subcontract procurement, and commercial delivery across a portfolio of capital works.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing delivery team working on complex civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure projects within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities across civil and utilities projects
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project delivery milestones
- Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Tender (RFT) and subcontractor packages
- Evaluate tender submissions, lead commercial assessments, and support subcontract award recommendations
- Support supplier and subcontractor prequalification and onboarding processes
- Assist with subcontract negotiations, scope clarifications, and commercial terms
- Ensure procurement activities comply with head contract requirements, governance frameworks, and probity standards
- Support commercial teams with subcontract management, variations, and procurement-related contract matters
- Build strong working relationships with project managers, engineers, estimators, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, value engineering, and commercial outcomes
- Civil infrastructure (pipelines, earthworks, structures, concrete, roadworks)
- Mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, pipework, treatment assets)
- Electrical and instrumentation packages (switchboards, control systems, cabling)
- Specialist subcontract and supplier packages within water and utilities environments
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, Contracts Administrator, or Procurement Engineer within civil infrastructure, utilities, or construction
- Strong experience managing tender processes and subcontract procurement
- Experience working for a principal contractor on infrastructure or water projects is highly desirable
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of subcontract and procurement frameworks
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple packages
- Able to work collaboratively with delivery, commercial, and engineering teams
- Immediate start available
- 6-month contract with strong potential for extension
