Job description

My client provides both Safety Assurance and System Engineering services within the SESA Division.

All SESA Division staff are expected to have a good understanding of both services; however, staff may have expertise in one or the other.
Key Project Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead and manage multiple project teams delivering SESA / HF services up to a value of $1M.
  • Ensure the services achieve the client and stakeholder requirements and deliver the services as a
    cohesive whole, utilising the skills and competence from within the team.
  • Responsible for services management to ensure that the high-quality deliverables are provided
    and achieve the required commercial outcomes.
  • Achieve agreed KPI on billable hours.
Key Technical Responsibilities Include:
  • Appropriate application of the businesses and client’s HF, System Engineering & Safety Management processes and tools scaled for the services or required project.
  • Deploy HF, Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance processes on projects, in accordance with client requirements, Project’s relevant standards (CENELEC, IEC, etc.) and internal procedures.
  • Producing HF management plans, apply HF analyses techniques, HF Report and other applicable deliverables as either standalone products or integrated with the Safety Assurance processes.
  • Develop the HF management process to be used on within the business
  • Establish HF, systems engineering and safety assurance processes for clients as part of advisory
    services across the asset lifecycle.
  • Develop, review and/or check deliverables required for the services.
  • Facilitate workshops and other activities required to deliver the contracted services.
Key Business Responsibilities Include:
  • Actively assist the SESA division to further develop SESA processes and procedures, including training, mentoring and developing staff
  • Contribute to the culture of the SESA division in line with the company values.
  • Ability and willingness to assist the business in generating leads and business development
    opportunities in HF, RAM Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance, in line with the Division’s
    business plan
  • Actively market SESA and the wider business capabilities
  • Identify business development opportunities for the wider business
  • Assist with the production of SESA estimates and offers of service for the business
  • Encourage the wider Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team to get involved with marketing and business development activities

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum seven years or similar number of year’s experience in relevant industry / discipline
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience working within HF in a rail environment (Rolling stock, Signalling, Rail
    Infrastructure & Operations preferred)
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills
  • Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • An understanding of management processes.
  • Subject matter expertise in HF across the asset lifecycle.
