Job description

Our client is the leading transport agency in New South Wales and they are currently seeking a GIS Analyst for an initial 9 month contract based in Parramatta and WFH. This role will focus on servicing the planning team for Roads projects.

The role undertakes transport related GIS/spatial analysis of transport data to identify network, place and service performance and to support transport system strategies and plans to improve customer outcomes.

The role provides spatial analysis advice and support to planning studies to assist in identifying, analysing and presenting transport performance issues and deficiencies for use in planning studies.

Key accountabilities
  • Undertake transport related spatial analysis to ensure information on multimodal network performance is available and understood.
  • Collect, manage, analyse and present complex spatial and non-spatial datasets in support of transport related studies.
  • Develop and produce a range of spatial products, including static maps, dynamic web maps, metadata and other associated guidance/instructional material, in response to client needs.
  • Contribute to the delivery of transport planning strategies and plans through provision of high quality spatial and non-spatial analytical services.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners to ensure effective and efficient acquisition and analysis of spatial and non-spatial data and information to support robust analysis and ensure services are delivered accurately, on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of complex multi-modal transport projects and programs against agreed objectives.
  • Provide information in relation to transport network performance for media and ministerial enquiries, internal and external partners, stakeholders and the community.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in data management and the use of Geographic Information Systems (ESRI ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS Online) and the ability to conduct spatial analysis and present statistical and spatial information.
Essential requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in statistics, geographic/spatial information systems, engineering or related discipline.
