Job description
Our client is the leading transport agency in New South Wales and they are currently seeking an ETCS Commissioning Manager for a 3 month contract.
This role sits within Technology and Assurance in Infrastructure & Place and is deployed to the Automatic Train Protection Project and is required for upcoming and urgent trackside commissioning activities.

Day-to-day duties of the role:
- Plan, manage and direct specific inspection and testing activities on new or altered ETCS Level 1 (LS) Systems with the Signalling Tester in Charge or Commissioning Engineer,
- Allocate resources for specific inspection and testing activities on new or altered ETCS Level 1 (LS) Systems,
- Certify that the integrated ETCS Level 1 (LS) system functions in accordance with the ETCS tables, trackside and on board subsystems in relation to the engineering and operational requirements.
- Ensure that ETCS Project Test and Commissioning Plans detailed for all ETCS Areas are produced and implemented to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Ensure that detailed scopes are developed by ATP contractors and in consultation with ATP project, in sufficient detail to plan and schedule signalling commissioning works in support of ATP legacy works.
Mandatory
- Accredited Signal Engineer, Field ADI01 Commissioning Managers. Currently Licensed to practice as a Sydney Trains Signal Engineer in accordance with Sydney Trains Engineering Standard MN S 41412, with experience working as Commissioning Manager on major signalling projects and extensive exposure to ETCS signalling systems.
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of rail operations to enable the production and implementation of signalling commission work packages and interface management plans.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW).
- Knowledge and understanding of organisational objectives, policies and procedures for project management and other relevant policies and procedures.
- 5 years ETCS experience
- 3 years ETCS commissioning experience
