Are you an experienced estimator with a strong background in aluminium windows, doors, and façade systems? We are seeking a meticulous and technically capable professional to join a growing team delivering residential, commercial, and low- to mid-rise façade projects across Sydney.

About the Role
As an Aluminium Window & Façade Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and project feasibility assessments for aluminium window, door, curtain wall, and façade projects ranging from $500K to $3M. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are cost-effective, technically compliant, and delivered efficiently from design through to installation.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects including residential renovations, new builds, and commercial fitouts where aluminium systems are used for doors, windows, and façades.

Key Responsibilities

• Tender Review & Analysis: Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify materials, systems, and compliance requirements.
• Quantity Take-Offs: Accurately calculate quantities of aluminium frames, glass, sealants, and associated materials from detailed drawings.
• Cost Estimation & Pricing: Develop comprehensive cost estimates including fabrication, labour, subcontractor, and installation costs. Ensure pricing reflects market conditions and project requirements.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with aluminium system suppliers and glass manufacturers to obtain competitive quotes. Evaluate options to optimise cost and performance.
• Technical Assessment: Provide technical guidance on aluminium and glazing systems, considering acoustic, thermal, and structural performance requirements.
• Tender Preparation & Submission: Compile complete tender packages with cost breakdowns, clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions. Present to management for review.
• Pre-Contract Support: Assist with value engineering, tender negotiations, and estimate revisions following client or design changes.
• Project Cost Monitoring (optional): Support the project team in monitoring costs, variations, and material pricing through construction.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of aluminium windows, doors, and façade systems, including stick and unitised systems.
• Experience with Alspec, Capral, or equivalent aluminium profiles.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., V6 Cre8, Logikal), AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Understanding of Australian building codes, standards (AS1288, AS2047), and Section J/BASIX requirements.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with clients, suppliers, and project teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in aluminium window and façade estimating.
• Proven track record in residential and commercial projects. Experience with high-performance façades or curtain wall systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with acoustic reports, thermal performance, and compliance documentation.
