Enforcement Technician – Transport for NSW Location: Parramatta, NSW – 4 Parramatta Square | Hybrid Working
Contract Length: 8 Months (Potential for Extension)
Rate: $50–$60 per hour + Super
Hours: 35 hours/week (7 hours/day; flat rate paid for any overtime)
Vehicle Provided for travel between sites
Interview Format: Microsoft Teams
About the Opportunity We’re currently seeking an Enforcement Technician to support Transport for NSW's critical regulatory camera enforcement and compliance program. This is a hybrid role based out of Parramatta, with fieldwork required to support and maintain traffic enforcement camera systems across the network.
This vacancy has arisen due to an internal secondment and presents a great opportunity for a technically-minded, hands-on individual with a passion for technology, networking, and field-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate root causes of camera connectivity issues and ensure continuous system uptime.
- Install and configure enforcement equipment (e.g. routers, controllers).
- Perform network commissioning, testing, and fault finding.
- Travel to field sites for system testing, troubleshooting, and data collection.
- Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Support development and modification of prototype systems and setups.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to technical documentation and reporting.
- Valid Driver’s Licence (vehicle provided for fieldwork).
- Solid understanding of basic IT/networking: routers, cables, Wi-Fi.
- Comfortable using Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and in a small team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork and support system deployments.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and document findings clearly.
- Background or strong interest in technology, electronics, or R&D.
- Experience in network fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on attitude with willingness to assemble/modify equipment.
- Ability to write simple technical documentation or reports.
- Managing a high volume of enforcement sites while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Coordinating maintenance and unscheduled repairs with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting a program under significant community, media, and political visibility.
- Reporting to a Supervisor alongside 4 other Technicians.
- Start Date: ASAP (subject to pre-engagement checks)
