- Our client is a national contractor who are known for delivering high profile and high spec projects across the Education. Health, Data Centre and Aged Care Projects up to $200m.
- Their Sydney office is an award-winning builder who have a great reputation with clients and pick up a lot of repeat work especially with a Data Centre provider where they are looking for a Design Manager.
- Project based Design Manager working with the Services Manager and Project Manager to take responsibility for the design process, managing and driving consultants to deliver first class design.
- Identify cost effective design solutions and value engineering.
- Ability to lead a design process and involve the best members of the team.
- Ability to deal with the pressure and delegate work appropriately.
- Collaborate internally to maintain cost effective procurement strategies.
- Confident at managing client expectations and deadlines.
- Ability to work in a small high performing team.
- Be a team player & leader with strong emotional intelligence.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with people from all walks of life.
- You could come from a design or engineering background however you must have experience working for a builder and understand the value add you can offer to the client in terms of products, materials & methodology to ensure value for money, strong functionality and the overall aesthetics of the space being built.
- Experience in Date centres would be an advantage, not essential.
