• Large private sector contractor requires Design Manager for regional work
• 3 month contract paying up to $1000pd
• Large scale project worth $1.2bn

With major offices in each Australian state and experiencing sustained growth in each of its market sectors. Their talented rail team is involved in a variety of passenger and heavy haul projects and they are looking now looking for a Design Manager to further strengthen capability.

The Role
Working closely with delivery partners you will manage multidisciplinary rail Infrastructure projects and provide project leadership and technical advice to the team. As an integral part of the senior team your responsibilities will include the management of technical reviews, multidisciplinary design management, ensuring project deliverables are met, full client liaison and managing your resource pipeline to meet project expectations.

The role will report directly into the Rail leader and as part of the senior team you will be influential in the future strategic direction of the division. The current team is extremely forward thinking and embracing of new methods so we are looking for someone who likes to push boundaries and work with new technologies.

Key Criteria
 
Previous Experience of managing engineering teams on large rail projects.
Significant experience in civil engineering within the rail environment.
Previous experience with a consultancy environment
A strong track record in in managing design, construction methods and interface requirements of complex, multi discipline projects.
Ability to Project manage and achieve budget and timeframe requirements.\
Be client facing and able to build strong alliances and partnerships.
Degree qualified and a chartered professional engineer.
RPEQ accreditation would be advantageous.
Desire to be challenged and a desire to progress.
