Job description

Our clients' role is to actively grow and manage the supply of the right types of housing, at the right time, in the right areas, for people in need in our communities.

They manage the largest portfolio in Australia, with over 125,000 properties, valued at $51 billion. Each day, they manage 1,750 requests for maintenance at a cost of $1m per day.

They are currently looking to engage a Compliance Auditor on a contract basis until the end of Feb 2023, based at Parramatta.

The Compliance Auditor(s) will be responsible for conducting and managing quality assurance audits on the cyclical Asset compliance programs: Fire Safety Program, Property Assessment Survey (PAS) Program, Detailed Property Assessment Surveys (DPAS) Program, and Change of Use (COU) program. This team will also respond to any ad hoc requests for professional advice related to compliance and regulations.

Key accountabilities
  • Provide and undertake audit services, advice, information and solutions to a range of stakeholders on technical issues, standards, policies and compliance requirements in accordance with the NSW Land and Housing Corporation standards, legislative and government requirements to support the development and maintenance of housing infrastructure across LAHC.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the various compliance programs in LAHC and a functional awareness of the standards, systems, approaches, requirements and stakeholders associated with each.
  • Participate in collaborative team discussions to provide advice and feedback on audit outcomes, solutions and levels of compliance relative to the programs delivered by LAHC and as requested by manager(s).
  • Provide advice, specialist support, analysis, issues/complaints escalation and process awareness to new suppliers, contractors, consultants and panel suppliers as required to ensure client satisfaction, timeliness and efficiency in project delivery and implementation.
  • Prepare audit reports for Manager(s) and key stakeholders to identify compliance and performance levels. Recommend solutions and/or system improvements and propose corrective action(s) as needed to satisfy the LAHC standards and legislative and government requirements.
  • Deliver advice, reports, commentary and solutions to compliance issues to key stakeholders in a manner that contributes to positive relationship building and supports an ongoing effective and efficient working environment.
  • Research and provide advice on approved auditing policies, plans and procedures to contribute to enhanced practice and continuous improvement.
  • Provide context and informational sessions, briefings and training of inspectors (Scopers) – on changes to standards, continuous Improvement requirements, developments and program requirements (e.g. AHO, Fire, DPAS, PAS ).
  • Provide continuous feedback and audit findings to the external contractors and their resources in order to achieve the continuous improvement on the project end product.
  • Participate in the performance review of the external contractors and assist the Compliance Project Manager and Principal Compliance Manager to support the decision making process.
Essential requirements
  • Qualification in Engineering, Architectural, Building Surveying, Project/Business management or related Construction discipline
