CNC Machinist/Operator (Workshop Role)
Hourly Rate: $57.36 - 68.83 / per hour
Contract: 6-month contract with view to permanent
Location: Bassendean workshop
Shifts:

Key Responsibilities
Hourly Rate: $57.36 - 68.83 / per hour
Contract: 6-month contract with view to permanent
Location: Bassendean workshop
Shifts:
- Day shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm & Friday, 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery on a locomotive wheelset overhaul line
- Wheel & axle machining
- Mechanical fitting and assembly
- Bearing installation and component measurement
- Machine wheels, axles, and support housings for locomotive components
- Inspect and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Uphold and promote a strong safety culture
- Experienced in CNC operating and programming
- Skilled in setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components
- Kinwa CNC lathe experience preferred but not essential
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to machine components accurately
- High attention to detail with sound knowledge of measuring instruments
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent work experience
- Clear communication skills, both oral and written
- Rail industry experience desirable but not essential - training provided for the right candidate
