Job description
- Contract positions for private sector contractor

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage technical track engineering functions across government projects
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the companies authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
- Establishing and developing a high-performance team to ensure the project achieves targets
- Ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of costs and revenue and taking corrective action as required
- Ensuring HSE requirements and risk controls are considered in all construction planning and processes
Requirements:
- Degree or similar in a relevant Engineering discipline. I.e. Civil / Mechanical / Railway
- Proven Project Engineering experience on railway projects
- Demonstrated understanding of NSW track / perway standards
- Experience working for a main, sub-contractor or government organisation
- Strong understanding of the railway sector and essential to the role; track / perway
- Project Management qualifications helpful but not essential
