Job description
I am currently recruiting 2x Town Planners to deal with strategic planning and assessment tasks in relation to Sydney wide or city specific land use initiatives for the NSW State Government

The Planner undertakes strategic planning and assessment tasks in relation to Sydney wide or city specific land use initiatives and proposed developments as required to ensure the efficient operation of the State network and provides comments to the relevant consent authorities on transport and road related infrastructure.

The Planner undertakes strategic planning and assessment tasks in relation to Sydney wide or city specific land use initiatives and proposed developments as required to ensure the efficient operation of the State network and provides comments to the relevant consent authorities on transport and road related infrastructure.
Key accountabilities
- Review and comment on draft planning instruments (including road reservations), assess proposals and recommend associated multi-modal road improvements that are consistent with NSW government guidelines to contribute to sustainable land use and transport outcomes within required time frames
- Ensure NSW meet its statutory obligations in responding to development consent authorities under the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EPA) Act and the Roads Act in respect to land use plans, development applications and proposals by adhering to the required time frames
- Ensure that land use development does not compromise network safety or efficiency objectives and identify appropriate measures to resolve potential conflicts.
- Ensure the relevant stakeholders understand NSW Government requirements for land use plans and development consents by liaising and negotiating with, State Government (environment and planning agencies), Council officers, and public and private organisations
- Work collaboratively with other regions to build a consistent approach to land use planning assessment and management
Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of relevant NSW Government planning legislation.
- Demonstrate experience in integrated road transport and urban planning and/or development related traffic impact assessment.
- MUST Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in town planning, engineering, environmental science or another appropriate discipline.
- Must be double vaccinated
