Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
  • Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety, and environment management.
  • Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs and plan daily/weekly production work.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive, and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
  • Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs including budgets and the implications of directions within your authority limits.
  • Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs
  • Ensure subcontractors operate as per their contractual requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture.
  • Select, train and develop leading hands and ensure the observance of safety, other work standards and fair and reasonable application of industrial agreements.
  • Maintain effective consultation with various workers’ representatives and committees on industrial and safety subjects, handling issues as they arise and referring major issues to the Project Manager.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with CYP policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
  • Manage Rail Track Subcontractors
  • Manage Safety and Quality compliance on site
  • Manage Coordination of multiple works with other Supervisors and Sub-Contractor Trades in the tunnel
  • Manage and Coordinate People/Plant/Equipment and Material Logistics from Surface and to the work front in the Tunnel
  • Manage People & Plant Interface inside the Tunnel and Station Areas
  • Strict monitoring of the sub-contractor’s daily productivity rates vs programme requirements – providing feedback reports to engineers
  • Review and coordinate all temporary works associated with the tunnel fit out delivery
  • Facilitate handover process between variable shifts
  • Continuous Challenge compliance to staff/subcontractors with GMR’s
  • Ensure all community relations and compliances are upheld
  • Liaise with engineers and ensure the principals of success are aligned
  
Essential Experience
  • Trade Qualification or similar
  • 2-5 years previous construction experience in a similar role.
  • Substantial Industry experience in Trade and Construction.
  • Technical competency and understanding in the area that supervising
  
Desirable Experience
  • Qualifications and training, e.g. Diploma, Building/Construction, Project Management.
  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Skill in review of design documents, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
  • Previous Rail and Slab Track experience
  • Leading Hand experience.
  • People and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
