Site Manager – HVAC Install | Major Defence Project

We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead HVAC installation works on a major defence project based at RAAF Base Wagga. This is a large, multi-building development with works scheduled to run for several years, with the site potentially active through to 2030.

You’ll be joining a top-tier mechanical contractor, delivering works under a Tier 1 builder on a high-profile defence infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys running complex sites, coordinating multiple trades, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

The Role

As Site Manager, you’ll take ownership of the mechanical installation on site, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of HVAC works across multiple new buildings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing HVAC installation works from mobilisation through to completion
• Coordinating subcontractors, labour and site logistics
• Working closely with the builder, consultants and project management team
• Maintaining strict compliance with site safety, quality and documentation requirements
• Managing site paperwork, reporting, permits and compliance processes
• Ensuring works are delivered on programme and to the highest standards
• Leading toolbox talks and maintaining strong safety culture on site

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Proven experience managing sites on Tier 1 construction projects
• Background in HVAC, mechanical plumbing or ductwork installation
• Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical services projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail with compliance, documentation and HSE
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and maintain programme delivery
• Experience working within highly regulated or large-scale construction environments

Important:
Due to the nature of the project, Australian citizenship is required in order to obtain the necessary security clearance.
