Site Manager - Commercial Joinery
Site Manager Required | Commercial Joinery | Sydney CBD & Metro | Lead Installations, Coordinate Trades, Quality, Team Leadership | $100‑$120K + Super
 
About the Role & Client
A well‑established commercial interiors manufacturer with national reach and nearly 35 years of experience are looking to add a Site Manager to their current team. The company specialises in high‑quality joinery and furniture, delivering complex fit‑outs for corporate offices, hospitality, healthcare, government, and other sectors. From their modern manufacturing facilities to their prominent Experience Centre, they pride themselves on craftsmanship, innovation, and seamless project delivery.
 
Role Summary
You will manage the onsite installation and execution of joinery projects, ensuring work aligns with design specifications, timeline, and quality standards. The position involves supervising a team of installers, coordinating with other trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.), liaising with stakeholders, and solving site‑based problems as they arise. As the recruiters, we are looking for someone with proven commercial joinery installation experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee joinery assembly, installation and finishing onsite, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Lead and manage installation crews (cabinet makers, installers etc.), subcontractors, and coordinate multiple trades where required
  • Liaise with main contractors, clients, designers and project managers to clarify finish, site constraints, and expectations
  • Monitor site progress against schedule; report delays or issues early, ensure quality control inspections throughout installation phases
  • Ensure site safety and compliance with WHS standards and building codes
  • Troubleshoot onsite problems (fit issues, unexpected site conditions, variations) with a solution‑oriented approach
  • Ensure handover at project completion meets client expectations and quality standards
 
Skills & Experience Required
  • Solid commercial joinery / fit‑out site experience, especially in installation, finishing, and site leadership
  • Strong ability to interpret architectural / joinery drawings and manage by specs
  • Proven leadership and team‑management skills; able to manage ~15‑25 people onsite depending on project scale
  • Comfortable coordinating with other trades: electrical, plumbing, etc. and integrating their work with joinery scope
  • Excellent communication (with site staff, contractors, clients) and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt when site conditions change
  • Valid driver's licence; ability to travel to projects across the Sydney metropolitan / CBD area
