Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Land Development Engineer with a minimum of 6 years' consultancy experience to join a growing civil engineering team in Perth. You will lead the delivery of land development projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use subdivisions, working closely with clients, authorities, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. This role offers the chance to step into a leadership position, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver land development projects from feasibility through to construction.
  • Lead design and documentation of civil works including bulk earthworks, road design, stormwater drainage, sewer and water reticulation.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Liaise with clients, developers, contractors, and authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development through building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Support the ongoing growth of the WA operations by taking on leadership responsibilities within the team.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards accreditation highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience within a consultancy environment, with a focus on land development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of subdivision design, authority approvals, and relevant Australian standards.
  • Proven track record in project leadership and client management.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
