Job description
Our client is a State Government Agency who protects, promotes and supports the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of the people of NSW. The agency supports the Chief Executive Officer and the Public Guardian to provide customer-centred services to the people of NSW, including some of the state's most vulnerable.
They are currently looking to engage a Senior Property Officer for a contract role until the end of June 2024. This role is based at Parramatta with local travel around Sydney. The rate is $50.53 p/h + super. They are seeking an experienced Builder who is looking to step away from the tools and be office based.
The role is part of a project team required to independently review property inspection reports, including safety & compliance reports and provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance of customer owned properties.
You may also be required to administer the construction, modification, major renovations and/or repairs and maintenance of customer owned properties (including the management of external consultants).

You may also be required to administer the construction, modification, major renovations and/or repairs and maintenance of customer owned properties (including the management of external consultants).
The role will undertake the following:
- Review Safety & Compliance reports in collaboration with Insurance expert (SME) and provide clear and concise recommendations for repairs and maintenance required to customer owned properties.
- Arrange and manage maintenance repairs required to properties as a result of insurance claims.
- Manage multiple projects ensuring risks are mitigated on behalf of our customers.
- You will be required to communicate and work closely with colleagues, customers, family, friends, and external service providers and provide your expert advice on building and construction matters as necessary.
- Manage workload with competing demands to ensure favourable outcomes for all ourcustomers.
- Computer skills are necessary (e.g. Microsoft office and internal data bases).
- Maintain sensitivity, discretion and a professional manner in handling difficult enquiries and issues.
- Experience in construction and understanding/interpreting to provide advice on residential building plans and specifications.
- Manage external service providers to meet the needs of our customers, having regard to their disabilities.
- Ability to multitask and manage various projects (Office based)
- Tertiary qualifications or recent experience in construction / project management and capacity to interpret and provide advice on building plans and specifications.
- Strong understanding of Australian building standards and the National Construction Code
- NSW builders’ licence is preferred.
