Senior Project Engineer
Civil Utilities | South Brisbane | Projects up to $20m
Are you an experienced Project Engineer ready to take the next step toward Project Management and senior leadership?
CGC are working with a well-established, family-owned mid-tier civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. This Civil Contractor are experts in water, sewer, drainage, gas, electrical and large-scale earthworks projects of varying complexity and scale. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the team, based on the south side of Brisbane.
The Opportunity
This is a high-autonomy role where you will lead from the front, taking ownership of 2-3 concurrent projects across SE QLD, each valued up to $20m. You will work closely with senior management while leading a team of Junior Engineers and Supervisors to successfully deliver high-quality civil infrastructure projects.
This position offers genuine career progression, with a clear pathway to Project Manager and future involvement within the senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of civil utilities projects up to $20m
- Manage 2-3 projects concurrently across South East Queensland
- Oversee project programming, budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- Lead and mentor Junior Engineers and Supervisors
- Drive safety, quality and environmental compliance across all sites
- Manage client relationships, subcontractors and key stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Minimum 6+ years post-graduate experience in civil construction
- Proven experience delivering utilities infrastructure projects (water, sewer, drainage, gas, electrical)
- Background working for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 civil contractor
- Strong commercial acumen and cost management capability
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Long-term career stability with a respected family-owned contractor
