My client, a leading FMCG manufacturer, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Technician & Maintenance Fitter to join their team at their state-of-the-art facility in West Melbourne. The role
This role involves a broad range of responsibilities, from providing technical support through to machinery servicing and repairs. You will work with modern, high-speed automated equipment, acting as the machinery specialist for Injection Moulding (Husky) systems, while also supporting maintenance activities across all beverage manufacturing equipment within the facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the day-to-day efficient operation of plant and equipment.
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery.
  • Perform diagnostics and fault-finding activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across plant and equipment.
  • Work with pipework, valves, process pumps, screw and belt conveyors, boilers, and steam equipment.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Provide technical support to the production team.
  • Promote and comply with Quality, OHS, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to continuously review and improve systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, upgrades, commissioning activities, and trials of new products.
  • Train operators and develop SOPs to improve reliability, cost efficiency, and throughput of packing and palletising assets.
  • Supervise external contractors while on site.
  • Ensure compliance with site quality and food safety programs.
Experience:
  • Trade qualified Fitter & Turner with 5–10 years’ maintenance experience in a similar environment.
  • Hands-on approach with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a highly engaged team.
  • Forklift licence is advantageous.
  • Welding experience is desirable.
