- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Initial 3-month contract
- Rates: Competitive daily rates on offer
- Location: Newcastle
- Lead the end-to-end commercial management of large subcontracts and self-perform works.
- Participate in scope of works planning to minimise scope gaps and maximise cost efficiencies.
- Prepare procurement strategies, identify subcontractors, and manage procurement processes.
- Provide leadership and support to other commercial roles, including direct reports.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and stay updated on market conditions.
- Assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, escalating issues as needed.
- Manage subcontract administration, including claims, variations, completion, and close-out.
- Prepare accurate cost forecasting and reporting, ensuring timely escalation of cost issues.
- Operate commercial and contract systems including cost reporting and compliance tools.
- Support dispute resolution and assist with head contract administration as required.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor role within the construction and engineering industry.
- Proven experience managing complex subcontracts and major works packages.
- Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of contract law.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
