You will be working for a Government organisation that leads Australia’s commitment to sustainable water resource management, environmental protection and community-focused regional outcomes. The water programs and initiatives support the resilience of ecosystems, irrigation networks and regional communities across Australia.
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Safety Advisor to join the company on a 12 month full time contract to provide expert safety advisory across regional water infrastructure and community resilience programs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that major water delivery and regional infrastructure projects are delivered safely, meeting legislative and best-practice standards while supporting workforce wellbeing and community engagement.
Salary will depending on experience and all travel and accommodation cost will be reimbursed
The work will be scattered throughout regional NSW with a concentration of work around the Deniliquin area. So regular travel would be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development, review and implementation of site and project-specific safety management systems
- Advise senior project teams on occupational health and safety compliance under relevant NSW & Commonwealth legislation
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and pre-start project safety planning
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance across dispersed regional worksites
- Provide training, mentoring and support to project teams in safety leadership and hazard control
- Prepare safety reports, investigations and corrective action plans
- Champion a proactive safety culture across diverse regional stakeholders
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in safety leadership on large regional infrastructure or government-funded programs
- Proven track record in complex multi-site project environments
- Deep knowledge of Australian safety legislation, risk management and compliance frameworks
- Strong communicator with ability to engage across operational teams, contractors and community partners
- Able to work autonomously while coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience in water, civil, utilities or environmental infrastructure projects is highly desirable
