Job description

The Company:
National tier 2 contractor who operate in almost every sector across the civil infrastructure and building industries.
They have worked on major Australian infrastructure projects and are a market leader with technology and advancements in the industry.

 
Position Overview:
As Health & Safety Adviser, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of H&S across a key RMS project in Sydney. You work closely with the Project Manager and Safety Manager but will demonstrate a high level of experience that allows you to work autonomously.
This position is an initial short term contract and an immediate start on a part-time basis of 3 days a week.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Managing and administration of safety systems
  • Driving a safety focused culture
  • Undertaking audits to ensure compliance with OHS, Injury Management and QA policies and procedures
  • Reporting directly into the National Safety Manager
  • Input OH&S data into Incident Management System 
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and drive risk control
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret policies
  • Develop and execute best practice and stay up to speed with industry legislations
 
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a road environment is highly desirable
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant experience
  • Certification in Lead Auditing/OHS Management systems
  • Knowledge of Work Cover and Injury Management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships internally as well as externally
