CGC Recruitment are established experts in providing short term construction and engineering resources to main tier and mid-tier contractors and have again been approached by one of our clients to source a site based Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a major Rail construction project.
The role will involve managing multiple contractors to oversee the delivery of the Signalling scope of works and interfacing with Track constriction team in a greenfield rail environment. The signalling system being installed is not an complicated digital system so the bulk of that scope will be trenching, pit & pipe installation and CSR routes. The position will involve being responsible for the development and control of budgets, reporting of project progress, technical and delivery strategies, risk, project schedules, deliverable, commercial and procurement arrangements. As of the nature of the work one of the key deliverable's of the role will be driving contractors forward to ensure works are delivered to a timely fashion as well as to correct standard and specifications.
- 10 years minimum Rail Construction experience
- Knowledge of Track and Signalling Construction projects
- Experience building Railways in a remote environment
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
- Strong communications skills to deal with multiple contractor and subcontracts
- Excellent commercial understanding of projects
The role is a FIFO position on a 2/1 working roster so applicants should be willing to work away and live in a construction camp environment. The role is for a 6-8 month duration open to both Contractors working on a Daily rate basis via ABN/LTD or a fixed term salary of up to $280k package.
