The Client:

Our client is a leading provider of fire protection solutions, dedicated to safeguarding lives and property. They specialize in designing and installing cutting-edge fire protection systems for a wide range of projects including infrastructure, commercial and defence. 

Position Overview:

They are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join their team in Darwin, Northern Territory, as they have won several crucial defence projects in the area.

You will play a critical role in overseeing and managing projects, ciovering both wet and dry fire systems. As the projects are primarily defence in nature, they would require a candidate with a good understanding of the specific requirements and regulations in this sector. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, and execute fire protection projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage all project phases, from initial concept and design to implementation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate potential issues, and take proactive measures to resolve challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and defense-specific requirements.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project execution.
  • Oversee project documentation and reporting, keeping records up to date.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field is preferred, but a trade background would also be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in managing fire protection projects, especially wet and dry fire systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of defense project requirements and industry-specific standards.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address project challenges in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel and potentially work on a FIFO basis.
  • Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus.
