Job description

My client are currently looking for a Project Manager to support them across signalling projects in Victoria. Typical project values up to $50m.
 
The business are a leading provider of railway industrial, electrical and communications solutions. Whether it's a green-field project, an upgrade to an existing site, or the ongoing service and maintenance of critical assets, they have the capability to provide a complete electrical and communications solution.
 
Additionally, they have the capacity to integrate specialist skills in mechanical, civil and other engineering disciplines to offer our customers turnkey design, construct and maintenance packages.
 
They have a number of significant rail projects coming up and are seeking an experienced Project Manager who is looking for a new challenge with an innovative and progressive company. 
 
Key accountability is to lead the design, construction and commissioning of engineering projects, so that results are achieved within time, budget and to agreed standards of quality by:
  • Promoting and ensuring the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to;
  • Developing and implementing project plans, monitor progress in respect of time, costs and quality;
  • Controlling and optimising the allocation of human and physical resources in respect to engineering, supervision and procurement activities across projects;
  • Identifying potential safety, cost, time, quality, procurement and human resources issues and implement corrective actions;
  • Identifying contract variations and negotiating additional work within the overall scope of the project;
  • Optimise team performance and foster a positive workplace culture. 
To grow and thrive on the challenges and opportunities this role presents you will need:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Substantial experience and proven track record managing complex signalling/communication projects typically worth up to $50 Million
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project (or P6)
  • Proficient at creating contractual reports for clients and WCS Management Team
  • Previous experience with ARTC, MTM, V-Line would be highly regarded
  • Hold valid Victorian Rail Operator Statement of Competencies such as ARTC, MTM and V-Line, highly regarded
