Job description

Experienced Project Manager needed for a specialist front-end role with an award-winning mid-tier builder known for delivering high-stakes, complex projects in live environments.

Our client – a head contract builder with an outstanding track record across refurbishments, civil & commercial works, modular builds, and high-end fitouts – is seeking a PM to lead from the front in a pivotal, office-based role.

This is a strategic, pre-construction-focused role for someone with strong technical acumen and the leadership to drive non-pricing tender packages, shape methodology statements, and interface directly with clients at the critical front end of major projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead front-end project management efforts across high-profile tenders.
  • Develop comprehensive project methodology and staging statements.
  • Collaborate closely with estimators, design managers, and clients during the pre-construction phase.
  • Strategically plan for delivery in complex, operational environments such as hospitals, transport hubs, and live commercial sites.
  • Ensure bid proposals are compliant, compelling, and technically sound.
About You:
  • Minimum 5 + years of PM experience (head contractors) in sectors such as refurbishments, civil/commercial works, modular construction, and/or fitouts.
  • Proven ability to manage live and logistically challenging projects.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end project lifecycle: tendering, planning, staging, stakeholder management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical and methodology documentation.
  • Adept at managing multiple tender streams in a high-performance environment.
Why This Role?
  • Join a well-established builder with a specialist reputation in live and complex project environments.
  • Be at the forefront of business development and strategic project acquisition.
  • Work from a central Melbourne CBD office in a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Attractive remuneration package tailored to experience and leadership.
