Job description
Experienced Signalling Project Engineer required by a leading railway contractor in Sydney. The company are very well positioned in the NSW rail industry with a strong pipeline of work in 2019/20.
Key Position:
The coordination of engineering functions for allocated projects, to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient technical support for signal engineering activities.

The coordination of engineering functions for allocated projects, to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient technical support for signal engineering activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the companies authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
- Establishing and developing a high-performance team to ensure the project achieves targets
- Ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of costs and revenue and taking corrective action as required
- Ensuring HSE requirements and risk controls are considered in all construction planning and processes
- Demonstrated rail signalling site based experience with a minimum 5 years project experience
- Demonstrated understanding of NSW based signalling requirements
- Understanding of contemporary practices in construction methodology on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
- Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management
- Masters or Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Diploma of Project Management in Engineering
- Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling and Telecommunication is desirable
- Accreditation with a NSW based Rail Operator
