Operations Manager - Civil & Construction Recycling

An established civil contractor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its Civil & Construction Recycling division. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing crushing, recycling, and material management operations that convert construction waste into reusable road-base products, supporting sustainable project delivery across WA.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with crushing & screening experience outside the mining sector who enjoys managing people, plant, and site performance in a fast-moving operational environment.
 
The Role:
 
As Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of site operations, leading a small team (approx. 10 personnel) and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project execution across crushing and recycling activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily site operations including crushing and recycling activities
  • Lead site crews, operators, and support personnel
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and company procedures
  • Coordinate plant, equipment, and logistics requirements
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and operational performance
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve operational issues on site
  • Maintain site documentation, reporting, and operational records
 
About You:
 
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Essential: Crushing & screening experience (ideally not from mining environments)
  • Experience recycling non-organic materials into construction/building products
  • Demonstrated capability leading site operations or teams in civil environments
  • Mechanical knowledge (desirable)
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • Solid understanding of WHS and environmental compliance
  • Experience managing heavy plant and mobile equipment
  • Working knowledge of the civil construction industry
