Civil Project Engineer - Earthworks & Utilities (Contract Role)
Location: Western Sydney, NSW
Duration: 3 Month Contract (Strong likelihood of extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Competitive daily rate (based on experience)
 
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join a growing delivery team working on key earthworks, detailed excavation, and utilities packages across major infrastructure and construction projects in Western Sydney. These works form critical early-stage and enabling packages tied to larger-scale developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Project Engineer who thrives in fast-paced site environments and enjoys driving technical delivery, coordination, and programme outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and deliver civil works packages including bulk and detailed earthworks, excavation, trenching, and utilities installation
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and IFC documentation
  • Prepare and manage ITPs, SWMS, RFIs, and QA documentation
  • Track project progress, costs, and productivity against programme targets
  • Liaise with site supervisors, construction managers, surveyors, and client representatives
  • Assist with planning, staging, and sequencing of works
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience delivering civil earthworks and utilities projects
  • Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, stormwater, sewer, water, or services installation
  • Experience working on infrastructure, subdivision, or major construction enabling works preferred
  • Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a site-based delivery team
  • Australian working rights
