The Company
 
This Pre-Contracts Manager role is working for an Tier 3 contracting organisation that is expanding and increasing there presence in Australia. Established  in NSW and now also have a Victoria are growing from year to year currently turning over around $120M. Their projects range from $1M - $50M in the Utility, Rail and Road sectors and the role is offering security, top end salary, career progression and a path into the executive leadership team of the company.  
 
The Role
 
  • Provide commercial input into the Bid Strategies
  • focus of the bidding and tendering of water and civil utility infrastructure projects
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director and has a functional reporting line to the GM 
  • Completion of commercial/contractual qualification schedules
  • Hands-on approach to develop winning bid strategies, bid preparation, bid management and ongoing design management support through project delivery.
  • Oversight of tendering resources to ensure full utilisation
  • Commercial oversight of bids to ensure the bids meet the required risk profile of the business.
  • Complete tender peer reviews
  • support ongoing profitable growth by winning new programs and projects and supporting the profitable delivery of projects won
  • Provide lead guidance & coordination of the negotiation and finalisation of Contract terms and conditions, consistent with bid risk profile.  
  • Margin, KPI & contract performance reviews and client relationship reviews
  • Assisting with any Contract disputes

Essential skills and experience required;
  • 10+ years exp. in the management of tenders/bids for Civil infrastructure projects
  • Previous project Commercial/Contract Administration experience onsite
  • Solid risk management experience with the ability to assist in evaluating identified risks/opportunities and development of agreed strategies and management plans to mitigate risk
  • Outstanding verbal and written Communication skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels.
