Job Title: Manager Geotechnical Investigations
Location: Parramatta
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $1250 day excluding Super (PAYG/ABN)
Hours of work: 8 max hrs a day, 40 hrs per week 

Primary purpose of the role
Working in a contract position for TfNSW you will lead a team of geoscientists, scientific officers and technical officers as Manager Geotechnical Scientist (Investigation and Monitoring) for a period of up to 6 months (from mid July 2023).  Reporting to the P&G Hub Lead (Western Parklands & Central River Cities) this role will work closely with other technical disciplines within Sydney Technical Services and wider Technical Services cohort to help develop and deliver a range of significant road and rail projects and to manage site safety and risks of field investigation works. 

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage WHS and environmental requirements for geotechnical fieldwork and site supervision.
  • Coordinate and consult with project teams and stakeholders to agree strategy and approach to the collection, interpretation, and use of geotechnical data. Including tracking on incoming work and forward scheduling of that work.
  • Responsible for the development and provision of geotechnical expertise to deliver cost effective solutions to projects. 
  • Contribute to the development and retention of geotechnical investigation and monitoring capability so the organisation may continue being an informed purchaser of geotechnical services, by providing specialist and authoritative advice and technical support to support effective decision making.
